Find out whether your ad spend is actually making money.

Most ecommerce dashboards show you ROAS. ROAS does not tell you whether you are profitable. This calculator runs Meta, Google and TikTok spend through your real margins and shows the number that matters: contribution after ad spend.

  • Per-channel CPA and ROAS
  • Break-even ROAS from your margin
  • Break-even conversion rate
  • Maximum you can pay per customer
  • Nothing leaves your browser

Your store economics

These four numbers decide everything else. Get them from your store, not from a benchmark.

Your channels

Switch channels on and off, then set spend, cost per click and conversion rate from each ad account. The starting values are placeholders, not benchmarks.

Contribution by channel

The money, line by line

Your maximum allowable cost per order is shown on each channel. Pay more than that and the order loses money, whatever the ROAS says.
How the maths works

No hidden multipliers

Every figure above comes from the six formulas below. Change an input and watch which one moves.

Clicks and orders

clicks = spend / CPC, then orders = clicks x CVR. Everything downstream depends on these two, which is why guessed CPCs give guessed answers.

Net revenue

orders x AOV x (1 - return rate) x repeat multiplier. Returns are stripped out before anything is called revenue.

Contribution

net revenue x margin - ad spend. This is the only number that tells you whether the channel pays for itself. Fixed costs come off the blended total.

Break-even ROAS

1 / gross margin. At 60% margin you need 1.67x just to stand still. Anyone quoting a target ROAS without knowing your margin is guessing.

Max cost per order

AOV x (1 - returns) x margin x repeat. The ceiling on what a new customer can cost you. Cross it and volume makes the loss bigger, not smaller.

Break-even CVR

CPC / (AOV x (1 - returns) x margin x repeat). The conversion rate a channel must hit to wash its face. Notice it does not depend on spend at all.

Questions

Reading the result

This is a model, not your accounts. It assumes each channel’s clicks, conversion rate and order value behave independently, which real advertising does not. Channels assist each other, platform-reported conversions overlap and double-count, attribution windows inflate results, and seasonality moves every input. The starting values are placeholders chosen to make the tool usable on first load, not benchmarks for your industry or market. Pull your own CPC and conversion rate from each ad account and your own margin from your P&L, then treat the output as a directional guide for budget decisions rather than a forecast.
